Chiang Mai - Thailand

Chiang Mai, “the pearl of the north” is famous for its status as a safe haven, first for women and now for elephants.

The city showcases a thriving Buddhist culture with the renowned temples at Wat Phra Singh and Wat Chedi Luang.
Angkor Wat - Cambodia

Crouched in a small cavern just inside the temple, I sat and began to meditate in front of a Buddha shrine. My thoughts drifting away I barely noticed as an older monk appeared beside me. He handed me incense which we lit together as I let the moment wash over me.

Bora Bora – French Polynesia

With a barrier reef and lagoon surrounding it, Bora Bora has an extinct volcano in its center giving way to Mount Otemanu and Mount Pahia.

It remains famous for its thatched bungalows that sprawl out over the clear blue water.

It rests on the Yeya Spit where people from all over the world come to bathe themselves within magical medicinal baths. In antiquity it was the River Don that separated Asia from Europe and today it is still one of the five great rivers of Russia.

On a warm summer day driving through the Ibiza coast with my brother I saw the sign for Cala D'Hort beach and knew we had to pull over. This blink and you'll miss it beach with its stunning view of El Vedra island on the horizon mesmerized me and is a place I'll never forget.

Away from the endless trance music sits Cala d’Hort in Ibiza Spain, faithfully watching the Balearic Sea waves collapse upon its beach. The mysterious island of Es Vedra shoots out of the sapphire blue waters towards the heavens, just a few hundred meters from the sandy and pebbly beaches of wondrous Cala d’Hort.

While the rest of Ibiza moves to the intoxicating trance sounds of famed clubs, Cala d’Hort moves to a tune all its own.

In the throbbing heart of bustling Vancouver city is the Queen Elizabeth Park. The park itself seems to glow like some fairy tale scene painted in a beautiful folktale.

The green and red hues of the leaves pop with brilliance and stone pathways snaking throughout the park invite the intrepid wanderer to lose themselves deeper into the overflowing nature.
Thompson Pass - Alaska

During high tide the icebergs float up on the shore only to get stranded during low tide. This gives the beach overlooking the face of Columbia Glacier an absolutely awe inspiring view in person. It is helicopter accessible only and I thank my lucky stars that I'm a helicopter pilot and I get to go fly there every day!

The mountains of Alaska, rugged, strong, and beautiful, rise endlessly upward giving Thompson Pass its famed steeped cliffs.

Not far from the pass is Columbia Glacier, sitting in all its pale blue beauty upon the ice filled waters. The blue is the kind of blue that fascinates, it is cold given physical form and in that form is a beauty just as fascinating. Many come here, kayaking and navigating the ice flow channels to get a better view of Columbia Glacier before its ice calves off into the swirling arctic depths below.
